Terms of Use

These conditions govern use of the website. Opening a page, reading its material, or submitting a search indicates agreement with all terms below. Anyone who does not accept them must discontinue use.

NO FCRA USE. This is a privately run website with no government connection. The operator and its advertising partners do not offer a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or any other decision governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The material identifies Fairfield County and Connecticut criminal-record channels. This website is not a consumer reporting agency or private investigation firm.

1. What This Website Is

This is a privately operated reference website with no connection to a government office. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, performs official background checks, or files documents on another person's behalf.

Reference material directs visitors to municipal police departments, Connecticut Superior Court, the DESPP State Police Bureau of Identification, CT DOC, and the Connecticut Sex Offender Registry. Separately operated third-party tools may also be linked from some pages.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the website is conditioned on an agreement not to:

  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated means against the pages
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass a person with information encountered here
  • Interfere with performance or prevent another visitor from using the website
  • Make a credit, employment, insurance, or housing decision from website content
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any account, system, or data
  • Violate an applicable federal, Connecticut, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Neither material here nor information reached through a link may be used for threats, stalking, harassment, intimidation, or discrimination. Connecticut law, including C.G.S. §54-258, restricts misuse of Connecticut Sex Offender Registry information. Public registration data is available for lawful safety awareness, not confrontation, blacklisting, or discriminatory treatment.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

This website is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not produce consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Neither the operator nor its advertising partners offers a service designed to evaluate applicants, rental requests, insurance eligibility, or creditworthiness. Information here or in a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Set insurance terms or evaluate creditworthiness
  • Approve, reject, retain, or terminate a worker
  • Determine eligibility for housing or screen a rental applicant
  • Make a decision involving a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

An FCRA-regulated purpose requires an authorized provider that complies with the FCRA and all applicable Connecticut requirements.

5. No Legal Advice

The material is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Fairfield County charge, warrant, conviction, or erasure rule applies to an individual matter. A licensed Connecticut attorney should provide case-specific advice.

6. No Warranties

All website content and functions are supplied "as is." No representation or warranty is made that:

  • Partner search results will be complete, correctly matched, or accurate
  • The pages contain no errors, defects, or security vulnerabilities
  • Information will always be complete, accurate, and current
  • Access will remain continuous or uninterrupted

Criminal records can change when a charge is filed or resolved and when information is corrected, sealed, or erased. Omissions and delays can occur. Website content is not an official statement from a Connecticut court, police department, or state agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

A link may open a police resource, Connecticut agency, court portal, legal source, or outside search service. Each destination controls its own availability, prices, content, privacy practices, and terms. Its rules should be reviewed before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Fairfield County Criminal History or its content partners owns the website's text, graphics, logos, and code. Prior written permission is required to reproduce, modify, adapt, or distribute that material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for damages arising from website use, including reliance on material found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

A user agrees to indemnify and hold the operator harmless from claims, demands, or legal proceedings caused by that user's conduct or violation of these terms, including associated legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Connecticut law. A dispute arising from website use must be filed in a court located within Connecticut.

12. Changes to These Terms

The terms may be revised at any time. A revision becomes effective when the updated terms are posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or terminated at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected language will be modified only to the extent required for enforcement.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be submitted through the Contact page.
